Metalmania - hot and sunny
It was a comparatively short gig at Metal Mania 2010 for Driven.
Following the bikini competition and the wet T-shirt comp, Driven braved the baking sun, wishing they could dress in the same standard as the competitors had been previous (perhaps bikinis would have been a better choice after all?). With the sun beating down, many spectators were hiding in the shaded bar, but those that were truly hard (or perhaps just drunk) stayed out in the sun to enjoy the entertainment.
The company that hired the PA to the organisers had made a small oversight in setup, leaving only one end of cabling labelled. This proved a slight challenge in setup time for all bands involved. Lucky we have a sound expert on our crew, who also helped with sound for the presentation of the afore-mentioned competitions. I’m sure he didn’t mind! Unfortunately though, this meant he was in the wrong position to witness the exposure provided by the eventual “Winner” of the bikini segment. (The other girls didn’t stand a chance after she exposed those breasts, but by my calculations she needs to win at least another 10 of those to make her investment worthwhile)
All staff involved with the event were run off their feet, with attendee numbers surpassing their expectations. The bar had to restock after an impressive turnover of alcohol. A great event all up, well done to the organisers.
